Editing a Portfolio

Edit Portfolio Constraints

constraintSpecificationRecords cannot be edited directly - once they're in, they're in! This eliminates errors that might arise if more than one portfolio uses a particular record and the constraints for only one portfolio are to be changed. Instead, a different record must be specified when changing the constraints for a portfolio; this different record may be either extant or newly added by the user.

To change the constraints for an extant portfolio:

• Open the portfolioListReport by clicking "Portfolio List|Show" choice on the mainMenu|Reports popup menu.
• Right-Click on either the account number or account name to display the portfolioListReportContextMenu|accountName context menu.
• Select "Edit" to display the portfolioInputBox
• Click on the "Set" button beside the "Constraints ID" to display the constraintsSelectionBox
• To display details of a particular constraintSpecificationRecord, you may highlight a line on the constraintSelectionBox and click "Details"; this will not select a schedule for the account, but merely display the constraintReportBox for the highlighted schedule
• If
  • The desired schedule is available : Select it and click "OK"
  • The desired schedule is not available : Click "Add New" to display the constraintInputBox, and input the record
• The portfolioInputBox will now display the "Description" field of the selected constraintSpecificationRecord. Click "OK" to accept or "Cancel" to reject the selection.
• Changes will take effect after the next initialization of HIMIPref™.
